Lt Gen Sukriti Singh Dahiya, SM, VSM is an alumnus of Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Rai and National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla. He was commissioned to 63 Engineer Regiment on 17 Dec 1988 after passing out 2nd in the overall order of merit of 83 Regular Course from Indian Military Academy, Dehradun.

In an illustrious mil career spanning 34 years, the General Officer has extensive experience in varied operational environments. He has been in OP RAKSHAK and OP MEGHDOOT while serving with a PARA (SF) Battalion and OP FALCON along Line of Actual Control (LAC). His regimental assignments including command of an Independent Field Company and an Engineer Regiment in the Central Sector of LAC and has commanded a Frontier Brigade and an Infantry Division along LAC. He has held prestigious staff appointments in an Infantry Brigade in an intense Counter Insurgency environment, Director in Acquisition Wing in Ministry of Defence, Colonel General Staff of an Infantry Division and Brigadier Budget, VCOAS Sectt in IHQ of MoD (Army), Chief of Staff at Headquarters Dakshin Bharat Area besides serving as a Military Observer in a United Nation peacekeeping mission in DR Congo (MONUC). Prior to his appointment as Commandant NDC, the General Officer was Director General, Information Technology at IHQ of MoD (Army).

He is an alumnus of DSSC, Wellington and has attended the prestigious Higher Command course at Army War College, Mhow and 58th NDC Course. Besides B Tech (Civil Engineering), he has an MSc and two MPhil degrees. For his meritorious service, he has been awarded Sena Medal and Vishisht Seva Medal. He is also a recipient of three COAS Commendation Cards and two GOC-in-C Commendation Cards.

His academic areas of interest include China, Nuclear Deterrence, Military Technology and Infrastructure.

He is a cycling, sailing and travel enthusiast and a Bonsai practitioner.

He is married to Mrs Nandini Dahiya who has been an educationist and a child counsellor. The couple has two sons, Rohan Dahiya, who is a software engineer, currently working for a telecommunication company and Dushyant Dahiya, who is working with a hospitality firm.
