Rear Admiral Dhiren Vig, VSM
Senior Directing Staff (Navy)

Rear Admiral Dhiren Vig, VSM a Gunnery Specialist was commissioned into the Indian Navy on 01 Jan 1986. He is a graduate of the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, Defence Services Staff College, Wellington (TN) and the Naval War College, Mumbai.

During his career spanning over 33 years, he has been through a myriad of operational and staff appointments. These include Commands of the Guided Missile Frigate INS Betwa, Frigate INS Udaigiri, 1241 RE Missile Vessels INS Nirbhik & INS Vidyut and Second in Command of the Missile Corvette INS Khukri.

The officer’s other important appointments ashore include Naval Assistant to Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command, DA to CISC, Staff Officer (Gunnery) at HQFOST, Command Gunnery Officer, Western Naval Command, Commanding Officer INS Kadamba, Director (Navy) at HQ IDS and Principal Director of Naval Training (PDNT) at IHQ MoD (Navy).

On promotion to the flag rank, the officer was appointed at Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) as Assistant Chief of the Naval Staff (Foreign Cooperation and Intelligence) w.e.f. 02 Apr 15. As ACNS (FCI) the officer in close coordination with Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Defence formulated a number Defence Cooperation initiatives with various countries of interests. The officer was actively involved in making concept papers on strategic projects. The officer was appointed as ADG Seabird w.e.f. 09 Mar 18 till joining as SDS (Navy)/NDC on 01 Mar 19.

For his devotion to duty, the officer has received commendations from the Chief of the Naval Staff and Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern and Southern Naval Command during his career. The officer is a keen Squash Player and has represented the Navy in Squash between 1992 to 1994. He is married to Geeta, who is a homemaker and has one son who is an engineer and presently working for Airtel at New Delhi.



AVM Tejbir Singh, AVSM VM
Senior Directing Staff (Air)

Air Vice Marshal Tejbir Singh was commissioned in the IAF on 17 Dec 1988 in the transport stream. With over 7000 hrs of flying experience in all combat airlift roles, he has the unique distinction of having flown all major operational transport variants in IAF.

TA Qualified Flying Instructor, he is an alumnus of our Defence Services Staff College and the Royal College of Defence Studies, UK. He has held varied command and staff assignments including our Air Attaché to Bangladesh, CO of a Comn Unit, Director Air Staff Inspection and Director Operations at Air HQ. He has been a pioneer in induction of the C-130J aircraft and establishing 77 Sqn, the first ‘Spl Ops’ Sqn of IAF of which he is the Commodore Commandant. He is credited with various trials and new concepts on the ‘Super Hercules’ including the distinction of holding the world record for landing at the highest airstrip in the world in Ladakh at 16614’. He also holds the distinction of flying a grueling 13 1/2 hrs unrefueled mission on C-130J, an IAF record. The Air Officer has commanded two major flying bases; a premier training base and was credited with very successful conduct of Aero India-17 and a front line operational base supporting our Northern sector.

AVM Tejbir Singh has been commended by the AOC-in-C, CAS and awarded Vayu Sena Medal and Ati Vishisht Seva Medal for his distinguished service.

He is married to Mrs Neetu T Singh, a homemaker and they areblessed with a son. The officer is a keen golfer and a cyclist.



Maj Gen Rajesh Moghe
Senior Directing Staff (Army-I)

Maj Gen Rajesh Moghe, a third generation armyman, was commissioned into the Second Battalion of the Mechanised Infantry Regiment (1st Royal Jat Light Infantry) in Aug 1988 from OTA Chennai. The General Officer has attended Tank Technology Course, DSSC, Command & Staff College Course in Indonesia, HDMC and Royal College of Defence Studies (RCDS) Course.The General Officer has served in various operational environments to include Op Parakram and Op Zafran. His command and staff tenures include command of Mechanised Infantry Battalion in obstacle ridden terrain, Brigade Major and GSO-1 (Ops) of a Mountain Brigade in Counter Insurgency Operations in J&K, Col GS (Ops) of an active Corps in Eastern Command, command of an Armoured Brigade in the desert sector, Brig ASEC at the IHQ of MoD and the BGS (Ops) of a Strike Corps. He has been an Instructor Class ‘B’ at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, Instructor Class ‘A’ at the School of Armoured Warfare, Ahmednagar and Directing Staff at the College of Defence Management, Secunderabad.

The General Officer is fluent in seven languages, is an avid bird watcher and biker. His wife Shireen has pursued a career as an educator with specialisation in French language. Elder son Dushyant is an engineer working with an automobile firm in Pune and younger son Kanishk has just begun a career in the hospitality industry.



Maj Gen Hari B Pillai
Senior Directing Staff (Army-II)

Maj Gen Hari B Pillai was commissioned into The Maratha Light Infantry in June 1989 and is an alumnus of Sainik School, Kazhakootam, NDA, Khadakwasla and IMA Dehradun.

A graduate of Defence Service Staff College Wellington, College of Defence Management Secunderabad and the National Defence College Delhi, he has varied exposure in various command, staff and instructional appointments. He has commanded his unit in Counter Insurgency Operations in Kashmir, a Mountain Brigade in the North East, as also an Infantry Brigade Group in MONUSCO under the UN Flag. His staff assignments include Brigade Major of an Infantry Brigade in the Western Sector, Col GS (Operations) of a Corps in J&K and BGS (Operations) in the Northern Theatre. He has also been Director Information Operations, at the Public Information Directorate at the Army HQ and has had instructional tenures at Junior Leaders Academy Bareilly, Officer-in-Charge (Training) of the Army Sports Institute Pune and as Directing Staff at Senior Comd Wing, Army War College, Mhow.

Gen Pillai is married to Mrs Tara Hari Pillai a Charted Accountant working with a multinational in Gurgaon. They are blessed with a daughter who is a student.



Maj Gen Manoj Kumar, SM
Senior Directing Staff (Army-III)

Maj Gen Manoj Kumar, SM an alumnus of National Defence Academy and Indian Military Academy, was commissioned into the Regiment of Artillery on 08 June 1985. He is qualified on the Long Gunnery Staff Course (Field) and has graduated from the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington. He is qualified on the Higher Defence Management Course from College of Defence Management as also the prestigious National Defence College Course at New Delhi.

His command assignments which include a Rocket Regiment, an Artillery Brigade and an Artillery Division have all been along the Western borders. He has been on Staff assignments in an Artillery Brigade and an Infantry Division in the rank of Major and Colonel respectively along the line of control. At the Service Headquarters, he has been Director Manpower in AG Branch and Deputy Military Secretary (Artillery) in MS Branch.

He has been awarded the Commendation Card of the Chief of Army Staff, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Western command as also Northern Command. He was awarded Sena Medal (Distinguished Service) in 2018.

He is married to Mrs Veena Rani. They have one daughter Supriya, since married and a son, Kushagra Singh who is pursuing graduation in law.



Shri Birender Singh Yadav, IFS
Senior Directing Staff
(Foreign Services)

Shri Birender Singh Yadav is a career diplomat and joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1997.  He has served extensively at the Ministry of External Affairs and at Indian Missions abroad. He has earlier served diplomatic assignments in various capacities in Embassy of India in Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, and Permanent Delegation of India to UNESCO and High Commission of India in Sri Lanka.  At the Headquarters, he has handled the work related to India's bilateral relations with countries of Gulf region, South East Asia region and West Africa Division. He has been Ambassador of India to Republic of Iraq from January 2020 to July 2021. He was also High Commissioner of India to Republic of Ghana (October 2016-January 2020) with concurrent accreditation as Ambassador of India to Burkina Faso (October 2016-March 2019), High Commissioner to Sierra Leone and Ambassador to Republic of Togo.

He is an alumni of prestigious National Defence College and was course participant of 55th NDC Course.  He also successfully completed UN Disarmament Fellowship in 2006.

He hold a Bachelor degree in Engineering. He is fluent in English, Hindi and Russian. He is married to Richa Rao, and they have one daughter and one son.


Mr. Priyank Bharti, IAS

(Civil Services)

Mr. Priyank Bharti is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 2001 Batch, Punjab Cadre.

He has done his schooling at Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, New Delhi. Done his Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Computer Science from Delhi Institute of Technology, Delhi University, New Delhi and further done his Masters of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Institute of Management Studies, DAVV University of Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

After the training as Asstt. Commissioner (UT) in Patiala, Punjab in 2002, has served as Sub Divisional Magistrate in Jaitu in District Faridkot and later in Rajpura subdivision of District Patiala in Punjab between 2003-2005. Was posted as Additional Deputy Commissioner in District Ludhiana (2005-2009). Has worked as Deputy Commissioner in Roopnagar, Patiala, Jalandhar and Amritsar between 2009 till 2014. The officer later served as the Director of Urban Local Government, Punjab (2014-16) before moving to the Government of India on deputation in 2016. As the Director, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways handled the issues relating to Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and the rules there under and since 2018 was working as Joint Secretary in Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, handling issues relating to the Motor Vehicles Act and the rules, Transport Sector and reforms, Road Safety, Information Technology and Tolling on the National Highways before being posted in National Defence College

He is married to Mrs Alaknanda Dayal, an Economics Hons. Graduate from Delhi University, and MBA from Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad, who is an IAS officer currently posted as Joint Secretary, in Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi. They have two sons, studying in Class 5th and 12th respectively.

The officer is a keen sportsman with an interest in Cricket and Badminton.
